Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Virginia (1726-1791). Harrison was the father of President William Henry Harrison and great-grandfather of President Benjamin Harrison. Partly printed DS, signed “Benj. Harrison,” one 5.5 x 3 page expertly inlaid into a larger sheet, August 30, 1783. In full: “I do certify that William Copland is entitled to the proportion of land allowed a corporal of the Continental line, for three years service….” Countersigned by Thomas Meriwether.
