Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Rhode Island (1707–1785) and a delegate to the Continental Congress. Manuscript DS, signed “S. Hopkins, Govr.,”one page, 6.25 x 2, July 1763. A pay order in the amount of 11s 3d issued to Thomas Vernon, postmaster at Newport, for the postage of four letters. In very fine condition.
