Two items: scarce signed White House card, boldly signed in fountain pen, “Franklin D. Roosevelt”; and a rare TLS, signed “Harry S. Truman,” one page, on Office of the Vice President letterhead, dated January 26, 1945. Truman sends his thanks to the President of the Board of Education. In part, “You don’t know how very much I appreciated your visit here and how handy the package you gave me came in.” Both are double suede matted and framed together with an original 1944 Roosevelt/Truman campaign poster, to a overall size of 35.5 x 25.5. In fine condition, with staple holes to top left corner of letter as well as a mild shade of toning. Truman served as Vice President for only 89 days, making any vice-presidential material difficult to acquire. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
