Description

Renowned American artist (1882–1945) and patriarch of a family of distinguished painters including son Andrew (born 1917) and grandson Jamie (born 1946), best known for his illustrations for such classic literary works as Treasure Island, Last of the Mohicans, and Robinson Crusoe. ALS, one page, 6.75 x 7.5, November 14, 1930. Wyeth writes to Darden & Pine[?] Inc. In full: “Please send me items (19) and (957) listed in your catalogue No. 75, November 1930. Enclosed please find check for $5.50 which covers postage….” In very good condition, with faint soiling, toning, and staining, a few marginal spots of skinning, and light wrinkling and handling wear. The writing is clear and dark. R&R COA.
