Charming vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of new mother Judy Garland with her young infant daughter, Liza Minnelli, signed in green ink “To Marty, from your two pals—Liza & Judy.” According to the consignor, the original recipient of the photo was Marti Stevens (née Martha Schenck), daughter of Nicholas Schenck, president of MGM from 1932 to 1956. Young Marti and Garland became acquainted at the studio, where Garland was under contract beginning in 1935. After changing her given name in order to establish her own identity, Stevens became a nightclub singer whose style was said to resemble that of the young Garland.
