American entertainer (1878–1949), nicknamed “Bojangles,” who was one of the best-known dancer-actors of Hollywood’s Golden Age. He often appeared opposite Shirley Temple in the 1930s. Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in ink “Just a few ‘taps’ for Anita Vollmer with very best wishes—Bill Robinson, 1935.” In very good condition, with date notation in bottom margin, scattered mild soiling and a few surface marks, small puncture to sleeve of shadow, tiny spot of skinning near bottom edge, and light silvering to dark portions.
