American flag flown aboard the Apollo 7 mission. The 6 x 4 flag, together with a souvenir Apollo VII patch, are lightly affixed to the reverse of a photographic reproduction of a document titled “Task Activities on Lunar Surface,” which bears the handwritten annotation (beneath the flag) by former NASA technician Walt Salyer, “Flown on Apollo 7 for me by Walt Cunningham.” The item is in turn housed in a cream 12.5 x 10 mat signed in black felt tip “Walt Cunningham, Apollo 7” and “Wally Schirra, Apollo 7, Cdr.” Salyer, from whose collection the item originated, was a friend of Cunningham’s from their Navy days who later became one of five space suit technicians at NASA who maintained the crews’ equipment from all of the space programs from Mercury through Apollo. Accompanied by two copy photos of Schirra and Cunningham posing with the item at the time of signing. The matted presentation is framed to an overall size of 16.5 x 14. In fine condition. R&R COA.
