Ink endorsement, “H. B. Stowe,” on the reverse of a 6.75 x 2.5 business check from the publishers Ticknor & Fields made out to her for $200.00 and dated September 16, 1865. The payment may relate to Stowe’s book House and Home Papers, issued by the publisher in the same year. Punch cancellation and faint stain (away from signature), and check inlaid to a slightly larger sheet and silked on both sides, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
