Vintage matte-finish 10 x 8 Underwood photo of Lindbergh and his wife in the company of several uniformed military personnel, clearly signed in fountain pen, “Charles A. Lindbergh.” The photo is also signed by six of the others shown: George W. Haldeman (who was honored with a Manhattan ticker-tape parade in 1927, just months after Lindbergh received the same distinction, for his flight from New York to the Azores); Lester J. Maitland (record-setting pilot on the first flight from California to Hawaii); Major General Albert F. Hegenberger (highly decorated military pilot who was the navigator on the first flight from California to Hawaii and who later developed the all-blind flight control system); Arthur C. Goebel (winner of the 1927 Dole Air Race to Hawaii, the first-ever transoceanic aviation competition); and Clarence R. Chamberlin (first pilot to make a solo crossing of the Atlantic following Lindbergh); and one other, whose name has been partially trimmed away and is now indistinct (possibly “Brock”). In very good condition, with photo mounted to a same-sized heavy mount, slight trimming and wear to edges (affecting Maitland and unidentified signature and slightly touching Hegenberger and Haldeman), light fading, and a touch of mild soiling. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
