“JUSTICE TO ALL”: JACKSON irons out a personnel issue in a letter to the Secretary of the Treasury

ALS as president, one page, 6 x 7.75, October 12, 1829. Jackson writes to the Secretary of the Treasury [Samuel D. Ingham]. In full: “Your note of this morning has just been rec’d. The arrangements made is [sic] fully satisfactory to me, and more especially, as it leaves the office absent in Mr. Wagner’s Bureau, and gives satisfaction to Mr. Hall, & room for his friend, & justice for all….” The integral leaf bears the address panel written in Jackson’s hand. Intersecting mailing folds (touching a few letters of signature), light wrinkling, and mounting remnants to address leaf, otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
