U.S. Navy admiral (1887–1947) who commanded the Fast Carrier Task Force in the Pacific during the latter part of World War II. FDC, 6.5 x 3.5, with a cachet honoring the U.S. Navy, postmarked at Annapolis in 1945 and bearing four Naval Academy stamps, signed in fountain pen. Scattered mild soiling, otherwise fine condition.
