Prolific American character actor (1892–1962) who was the first performer to win an Oscar (for his supporting role in Stagecoach), an Emmy, and a Tony. His most familiar roles are probably those of Scarlett O’Hara’s father in Gone with the Wind and Uncle Billy in the classic It’s a Wonderful Life. Vintage in-person ink signature, “To Ken, Best wishes, Thomas Mitchell,” on a pale yellow 5 x 3.75 album page with affixed magazine photo.
