TLS signed “John Kennedy,” one page, 7.5 x 9, House of Representatives letterhead, no date [late 1952]. Kennedy writes to Gertrude. In part: “Since I have just returned to Europe, I have been delayed in telling you how much I appreciate all of your efforts during the past months of the campaign. We would never have been successful against the Republican sweep, I am sure, if it had not been for the untiring efforts at Headquarters of the ‘Volunteers.’ I am especially grateful to you for your help, and I am looking forward to having the opportunity to thank you personally….” After signing, Kennedy adds a handwritten postscript: “Many, many thanks Gertrude for all that you did.” Horizontal mailing fold through last name, and a few light stains, otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
