Description

Russia’s most “colorful” composer

Important Russian composer (1872–1915) best known for his advanced, idiosyncratic tonal language, at once in evidence in his piano sonatas and his symphony subtitled “Poem of Ecstasy.” Scriabin evinced a strong interest in the philosophical and visual aspects, and particularly the “color,” of music, and even invented a color keyboard that was supposed to project specifically colored lights according to musical pitch. Scarce and excellent matte-finish 3.25 x 5.25 postcard photo, signed in ink “A. Scriabine.” A touch of light silvering at edges and somewhat indistinct contrast against dark background, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
