Description

No more Lincoln autographs: “It is not in my power, having long since parted with all that I had”

American politician (1809–1891) who served as Lincoln’s first vice president. ALS signed “H. Hamlin,” one lightly lined page, 4.5 x 7, April 22, 1872. Hamlin writes to Miss Holyoke. In part: “It would give me pleasure to furnish you with the autograph of the late President Lincoln, if in my power to so [sic]—I regret to say that it is not in my power, having long since parted with all that I had, that I could possibly spare.” A few small stains and mild handling wear, otherwise fine condition. A terrific early collecting association! R&R COA.
