Partly printed DS as president, signed “J. Q. Adams,” one page both sides, 13 x 17.75, July 29, 1826. A grant for a parcel of land issued to John Bryant, “three years a serjeant [sic],” under the provisions of “An Act of Congress … entituled [sic] ‘An Act to enable the Officers and Soldiers of the Virginia Line on Continental Establishment, to obtain Titles to certain Lands lying north-west of the river Ohio, between the Little Miami and Sciota….’” The embossed paper seal remains intact at lower left. Intersecting folds (small hole at one intersection) and a touch of mild soiling and toning, otherwise fine condition. Adams’s signature is exceptionally bold and dark.
