Writing to Mrs. Asquith

ALS signed “Winston S. Churchill,” one page, 7.5 x 6.25, 2 Sussex Square letterhead, no date. Churchill writes to Mrs. Asquith (probably Margot Asquith, 1864–1945, the author, socialite, and second wife of Prime Minister Herbert Asquith). In full: “Enclosed covers my Wharf debt to you (25/6) & Clemmie (25/-). Many thanks for a pleasant entertainment….” Matted and framed with a photo to an overall size of 19.25 x 13.25. Intersecting mailing folds (light vertical fold to first name) and a few wrinkles and creases, otherwise fine condition. The signature is quite bold and dark.
