Description

HAPPY NEW YEAR, CHARLIE BROWN: PEANUTS rings in 1975, the year that brought the Fall of Saigon, the Apollo-Soyuz mission, the Clintons’ marriage, and Jaws

Original hand-inked four-panel Peanuts daily comic strip, ink on artist’s cardstock, 28.5 x 6.75, January 1, 1975, signed vertically in the last panel, “Schulz” and additionally signed and inscribed in black felt tip in the top margin “For Gill—Charles M. Schulz.” Charlie Brown and Lucy discuss plans for the new year; in the final panel, an upset Lucy concludes, “I’m not finished with last year!” Matted and framed to an overall size of 35.5 x 14. Usual vertical fold between second and third panels, and some very faint, completely unobtrusive ink traces to top margin, otherwise very fine, bright, beautifully preserved condition. A beautifully inked, superb example with plenty of “wall power!” R&R COA.
