Description

1969: A SPACE ODYSSEY: APOLLO 11 crew photo signed by ARMSTRONG, ALDRIN, AND COLLINS

Color 10 x 8 NASA photo of the Apollo 11 prime crew posing in their spacesuits against a lunar background, signed in black felt tip, “Neil Armstrong,” in black ballpoint, “Buzz Aldrin,” and in blue ballpoint, “Mike Collins.” Apollo 11 was the fifth human spaceflight of the Apollo program, and the third manned voyage to the moon. Launched on July 16, 1969, it carried Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin. Armstrong and Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the noon, while Collins orbited above. The mission fulfilled President John F. Kennedy’s goal of “landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the Earth” by the end of the 1960s. Accompanied by an unsigned eight-page NASA Mission Report on Apollo 11, dated August 14, 1969. In fine condition, with small crease through portion of Armstrong’s signature, a couple trivial bends and tape remnants to reverse, and surface impressions of another photo signed by Collins on top of this one. A must-have for any serious space collector. COA Scott Cornish and R&R COA.
