Schofield,” one faintly lined page tipped to a larger card, 6 x 9, Headquarters, Division of the Atlantic letterhead, June 3, 1887. Pope writes to General Carrington. In full: “I am very much obliged to you for the copy you were so kind as to send me of your ‘Souvenir of Visit to the Washington Obelisk.’ I find it exceedingly interesting as I am sure all must do who love the memory of Washington.” Intersecting mailing folds (vertical fold through “M”), otherwise fine, fresh, crisp condition.
