German admiral (1891–1980) who commanded the German navy during World War II and tendered Germany’s surrender to the Allies on May 7, 1945. He was later sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment at Nuremberg. Two items: untranslated TLS in German, signed in full; and a printed card with a handwritten addition in German by Dönitz, signed twice (once as “Dönitz”). In fine condition, with intersecting mailing folds (touching first letter of signature) and file holes to TLS. R&R COA.
