American lawman (1849–1919) who, among other posts, served as sheriff of the previously lawless Deadwood, South Dakota. A friend of Theodore Roosevelt, Bullock served as a captain in “Grigsby’s Cowboy Regiment” of the Rough Riders; Roosevelt later appointed him U.S. Marshal for South Dakota. Engraved certificate for 1,000 shares of stock in the Ruby Gell Gold & Silver Mining Company issued to Gottfried Dietze, 11 x 6.75, March 21, 1892, signed “Seth Bullock” as president. Intersecting folds, mild handling wear, and three ink cancellation strokes to signature (which remains legible), otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
