LS with handwritten postscript, in German, three pages on two sheets, 5.5 x 8.25, January 12, 1875. Wagner writes to an unknown Kapellmeister. The main text of the letter is likely in the hand of Anton Seidl, who was then working closely with Wagner as his copyist. In very good condition, with mild soiling and a few small marginal tape stains, intersecting mailing folds (vertical fold touching a few words of Wagner’s postscript, but not signature), mild wrinkling, and clean, unobtrusive edge tear touching last three letters of signature. The signature is otherwise unaffected, and the writing throughout is bold and clear. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
