Striking oversized vintage matte-finish 10 x 13 MGM publicity photo, cleearly signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “For Johanna Mattson with deepest good wishes, Spencer Tracy, ‘I’ll miss my tea,’ Oct. 1941.” Die-hard fans may find the last phrase especially poignant, as Katharine Hepburn later reported that Tracy collapsed to the kitchen floor and died in the midst of preparing a cup of tea. Tracy’s films in the year of signing include Men of Boys Town, a sequel to Tracy’s 1938 hit, and the classic Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Two very faint, tiny smudges to background, otherwise very fine, fresh condition. Scarce and superlative! PSA/DNA Auction LOA and R&R COA.
