Mexican-born actress (1908–1944) best known for her comedy and “spitfire” roles. After marrying and divorcing screen Tarzan Johnny Weissmuller and an intense affair with Gary Cooper, she committed suicide (while pregnant) with an overdose of Seconal at the age of thirty-six. Lovely vintage matte-finish 5 x 7 photo of Velez in an elaborate gown and headdress, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To John, Best wishes, Lupe Velez.” In fine condition, with a bit of light contrast to inscription.
