TLS signed “Benj. Harrison,” one page, 8.25 x 9, personal letterhead, November 1, 1888. Harrison writes to E. A. Drake. In part: “I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of an invitation from the Executive Committee of the Harrison & Morton Business Men’s Association to review the parade to be held Saturday, November 3rd. It would give me great pleasure to accept … but there are reasons which seem to me to be conclusive why I should remain at home….” In very good condition, with intersecting mailing folds (vertical fold between first and last name), light scattered soiling, and a few small chips and tears.
