Description

Hamilton’s second in the notorious duel between Hamilton and Aaron Burr that resulted in Hamilton’s death. ALS signed “Nathl. Pendleton,” one page, 7.75 x 9.5, January 10, 1803. Pendleton writes to John V. Henry, Esq. In part: “After several efforts to prevail on some well known person to accept administration … of John Taylor’s estate, Mr. Anthony L. Bleecker has consented to sit. You will please to nominate him to the judge….” The integral address panel remains intact. In fine condition, with intersecting mailing folds (vertical fold through last name), small edge chip and tear touching one word (repaired from reverse), and a hint of subtle soiling. R&R COA.
