Description

TLS as president, one page, 6.5 x 8.5, White House letterhead, July 10, 1968. Letter to a close friend. In part, “We missed you on the trip but it sounds as if your vacation was fun and healthy - hope your wife’s defiant back has quieted down.” Johnson adds a handwritten postscript under his signature, “Helen was superb and you would have been proud of the way she carried on in L. A.” Double matted and framed with a Pach Bros. portrait, to an overall size of 18 x 14.5. In fine condition, with horizontal fold affecting the tops of a few letters of signature.
