Harrison appointment cosigned by Postmaster General and department-store magnate John Wanamaker

Partially printed DS as president, signed “Benj. Harrison,” one page, 17.25 x 15, January 21, 1892. An appointment for Jared C. Thompson as postmaster at Dickinson, North Dakota. Countersigned by John Wanamaker, the controversy-laden postmaster general who founded the famous Wanamaker’s Departement Store in Philadelphia. The embossed foil and ribbon seal remains intact at lower left. Matted and framed with a photo to an overall size of 30.5 x 22.25. Intersecting folds, mild wrinkling, and a few stains (mostly offsetting from seal), no faults affecting the signatures, otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
