In part: “I think of you every moment, every waking moment, and at night I go to sleep dreaming of you, and praying that you are all right. Please do everything you ought to do to keep well. You must do that. I love you more than anything…. Tell the little boy I am thinking of him and miss home so, and that I love him…. Please have someone write me every day while you are resting and getting well after the operation…. You are my Rosanne, my everything, my reason for everything I do…. When I come back I’ll make you the happiest person in the world and be happy trying to do it….” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope which bears two additional Purvis signatures.
