Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Delaware (1734–1817) who later served as Revolutionary War officer, delegate to the Continental Congress, and Governor of Pennsylvania. Partially printed DS, signed “Tho. M:Kean,” one page on vellum, 21 x 11, September 22, 1800. A grant for a parcel of land called “Comeshort” in Chanceford Township, issued to Abraham Mosser. The embossed paper seal remains intact above the signature. Matted and framed with a portrait and engraved plaque to an overall size of 34 x 18.75. In good condition, with slightly irregular adhesion to signature, scattered wrinkling and light soiling, intersecting folds (a few small holes), and dampstaining along central horizontal fold. The signature is otherwise unaffected. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA. Oversized.
