DS, three pages on two adjoining 9.25 x 14.25 sheets, June 2, 1787. A manuscript legal document related to the settlement of the estate of Joseph Nicholson, which had evidently led to a heated dispute among the decedent’s heirs. Matted and framed (the final page visible only) with a portrait and engraved plaque to an overall size of 20.25 x 11.25. In very good condition, with folds (partial separations touching a few words of the text), light toning and scattered soiling (slightly touching signature), light spots and stains, folds and wrinkling, and edge wear with a few small chips and tears.
