DS, one page, 8.5 x 10, February 14, 1952. A contract wherein Garland engages the Szonys to appear for three consecutive weeks at her show at the Philharmonic Auditorium in Los Angeles, for which they are to be paid $1100 per week. The Szonys consisted of dancers Francois and Giselle Szony. Signed at the bottom in blue ink by Garland, who has also initialed the two small attached riders as well. Garland’s sensational, sold-out four-week engagement in Los Angeles came on the heels of triumphant appearances in London and New York in the previous year. Though her film career had faltered—resulting largely from her now-legendary unpredictability on the set—her live concerts marked a new phase in her career as one of the most dynamic and successful performers of the era. Trimmed top edge, several staples, and end of Garland’s signature squeezed between two typed lines, otherwise fine condition. PSA/DNA Auction LOA and R&R COA.
