DS, one page, 8.5 x 9.5, March 4, 1952. An contract wherein Garland engages the novelty act Jesse, James & Cornell to appear for three consecutive weeks at her show at the Philharmonic Auditorium in Los Angeles, for which they are to be paid $750 per week. Garland’s sensational, sold-out four-week engagement in Los Angeles came on the heels of triumphant appearances in London and New York in the previous year. Though her film career had faltered—resulting largely from her now-legendary unpredictability on the set—her live concerts marked a new phase in her career as one of the most dynamic and successful performers of the era. The contract has also been signed by all three members of the act. Trimmed top edge, small edge tear, and Garland’s signature partially written over her typed name, otherwise fine, clean condition. PSA/DNA Auction LOA and R&R COA.
