Selassie was one of the most revered figures among followers of the Rastafari movement, whose members viewed him as a symbol of God incarnate. Vintage matte-finish 9 x 11.5 photo of Selassie in full dress uniform, signed in fountain pen, probably in Amharic, and dated 1959. Photo is presented in a fashionable presentation frame measuring 10 x 14, with a gold coat of arms at the top, which may be that of the Ethiopian state or possibly that of the Emperor’s family.
