Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1731–1811). Partially printed DS, signed twice “Wm. Williams” (once adding “Judge”), one page, 7.25 x 9.75, September 28, 1782. A legal document related to the settlement of the estate of Tophas Robinson of Windham. In addition to signing at the conclusion, Williams has also filled out the document, including a second signature, “Wm. Williams,” at the beginning of the printed text. The paper seal remains intact at upper left. Mild scattered toning and a few faint spots, otherwise fine, bright condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
