Real name J. P. Richardson. Best known for the song “Chantilly Lace,” The Big Bopper was killed in a plane crash along with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens on the morning on February 3, 1959. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 Mercury Records publicity photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Jr. & all the fine people at Lapeyrouse! You know what I like! The Big Bopper!” Double cloth matted with a biographical plaque to an overall size of 14.75 x 25. In very good condition, with scattered creases and surface marks, not detracting from signature and inscription. This is the only Big Bopper photo we have had, and the inclusion of his trademark catchphrase makes this a great opportunity for the discerning music collector.
