Description

Thanking Bob Dole a week after leaving the White House: “I always valued your advice and counsel”

TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, January 27, 1989. Reagan writes from Beverly Hills to Bob Dole. In full: “I thank you for the very gracious gift which you presented to us just before I left the White House. Nancy and I are extremely grateful for the many gestures of love and appreciation shown to us during our last days in Washington. Bob, I shall always remember our meetings and talks—the important ones and the private ones. I want to tell you that I always valued your advice and counsel. Anyway, the set of china was a very fine expression. Nancy says it’s her favorite. I just hope that perhaps we may be able to have dinner over it together. Give Elizabeth our best.” A few secretarial markings and light mailing fold just touching signature, otherwise fine, clean condition. A most significant association of these two GOP powerhouses! R&R COA.
