In part: “Thanks for the correction for Danse Macabre—I didn’t have time to do much correction for the paperback edition…. The movie version of The Stand has not gone into production yet, although we hope to begin next year. The director will be George Romero who recently did Creepshow with me, which will be out in July….” Though a theatrical version of The Stand has yet to be made, it was adapted into a six-hour television miniseries, directed by Mick Garris, in 1994.
