Albert I (1875–1934), third king of the Belgians, ruled from 1919 until his death; Pershing (1860–1948) was Commander of the American Expeditionary Force in Europe during World War I and one of the most celebrated soldiers in American history. Handsome vintage matte-finish 13.5 x 10.5 photo of Pershing, Albert, and several others, signed in ink in the blank lower margin, “Albert, October 1919” and “John J. Pershing,” and also signed by two others (presumably among those in the photo). A few light corner creases and spots of minor soiling (all confined to margins, well away from image and signatures, and easily matted out), otherwise fine, bright condition.
