Description

Heavyweight boxing champion from 1926 to 1928 who defeated Jack Dempsey in 1926 and 1927 and retired after winning against Tom Heeney in 1928. Vintage 8 x 10 portrait photo of the neatly dressed Tunney, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Lionel Aucoin, With every good wish, Gene Tunney”; and a nice 7.5 x 10 photo of Tunney in the ring, signed and inscribed in black ink, “To George Sanders, a great sportsman and racouteur, with affectionate greetings, Gene Tunney.” In fine condition, with some light rippling and signature contrast to first photo.
