Died in 1967 in the Apollo spacecraft fire. He piloted the Liberty Bell 7 spacecraft, the second and final suborbital Mercury test flight, on July 21, 1961. In fine condition, with cancellation holes affecting top of one letter of signature and mild show-through from stamps on reverse under signature.
