Description

Brando writes a quote from his island paradise Tetiaroa

Unsigned handwritten quote on the reverse of a tri-fold pamphlet advertising Brandon’s Tahitian atoll Tetiaroa. Brando writes in black ballpoint, “A lifetime of laughter for as long as death endures.” Accompanied by a photo of Brando and his Mutiny on the Bounty co-star and eventual wife Tarita Teriipia on the atoll. In fine condition, with a bit of minor handling wear. As a private island Tetiaroa passed through the hands of other owners until 1965, when Marlon Brando, after filming Mutiny on the Bounty, leased it from its current owner for 99 years. Brando lived on the island on and off until 1990. At various times he talked of plans to develop a resort on the island, but the enormous costs involved made it financially impossible for him to carry through on his ideas. PSA/DNA LOA and R&R COA.
