Revolutionary War soldier, lawyer, senator, and vice president under Jefferson (1756–1836), probably best known for mortally wounding Alexander Hamilton in a duel on July 11, 1804. Manuscript DS, signed “Aaron Burr Esq.,” two pages, 7.75 x 5.5, July 22, 1828. A legal document authorizing Burr “to release and discharge John Wood from all claims for Costs on my behalf.” Pinholes and some tiny ink marks to signed page, otherwise fine, bright, visually appealing condition.
