Roosevelt appoints a temporary Treasury secretary

Uncommon DS as president, one lined page, 8.5 x 12.75, March 9, 1907. Uncommon manuscript document, issued “during the absence of the Honorable George B. Cortelyou, Secretary of the Treasury, the Honorable James B. Reynolds, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, is hereby designated to perform the duties of the Secretary of Treasury.” Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Roosevelt and initialed by Cortelyou. In very good condition, with uniform toning, diagonal crease through last name of signature and some scattered light spotting. LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
