Fields goes across the pond to Shakespeare’s birthplace

Vintage 5.5 x 3.5 postcard photo of Henley Street, Stratford-on-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare, signed in fountain pen, “Shakespeare’s Birthplace, W. C. Fields,” with Fields drawing an arrow to the exact house. Addressed on the reverse in Fields’ hand to “Miss Junkins, 74 High St. Malden, Mass, USA,” and postmarked July 18, 1908. Accompanied by a photocopied letter of provenance from a relative of the original recipient. In fine condition, with a touch of scattered light soiling and some slight contrast to Fields’ two initials in signature. R&R COA.
