Football coach. He was an assistant coach at Georgetown University, Michigan State College, and Fordham University. In 1941, after his success as head coach at Boston College he was made athletic director and head coach at Notre Dame, his alma mater. In the 13 years that he coached Notre Dame, his teams won 107 games, lost 13, and tied 9. Signed book: Notre Dame Football: The T Formation. NY: Prentice-Hall, 1949.
