How dry he was: FDR sends sly thanks for some hooch

TLS as president, one page, 6.5 x 8, White House letterhead, October 19, 1943. FDR writes to Martin C. Sweeney in New York. In part: “Ever so many thanks for ‘the fruit and the spirit in which it is given.’ Perhaps Frank Walker told you that my supply was running low and I am delighted to have it replenished with so fine a brand.” Matted with a photo and engraved plaque to an overall size of 18.75 x 12.
