Signing a court martial for a deserter

King of Great Britain and Ireland (1762–1830) from 1820 to his death. The eldest son of George III, he alienated his subjects with his prodigious spending and contemptuous treatment of his wife Queen Caroline, whom he refused to admit to his coronation. Manuscript DS, signed “George PR” [as Prince Regent] at the top of the first page, one page both sides, 9.25 x 14.5, September 14, 1813. A court martial issued against Private Joseph Hammond “for deserting from [his] regiment on or about the 18th day of June 1813 until on or about the 22nd day of the same month.” Light soiling, a few tiny ink spots, and small edge separations at folds, otherwise fine condition.
