1776 pay order from Ellsworth, bearing the scarce “Prudence & Liberty” watermark

DS, signed “O. Ellsworth,” one page, 8 x 4.5, April 11, 1776. Document, written in Ellsworth’s hand, ordering the treasurer to pay “Elizer White two pounds eight shillings for his service & Expence in collecting Acc’ts of Prisoners of War, employ’d by Com’te for sd Prisoners.” Document also bears the rare watermark “Prudence & Liberty.” Small separation along bisecting horizontal fold, small pencil notation and light show-through from docketing on reverse, otherwise fine condition.
